Amsterdam is a very unique city with it's many canals and bridges. Actually, I was particularity drawn to the this style all through the Netherlands, especially after seeing Van Gogh's painting depicting the draw bridge at the Van Gogh Museum. Houseboats were abundant in Amsterdam as well.
Olde Kirk, Delft 16x12, oil on canvas.
Delft was one of my favorite towns in Holland. Carl Fabritius painted "The Gold Finch" there, the only painting that survived the explosion that destroyed most of the city in 1654.
Kinderdyke of Olde, 10x8 , oil on linen. This quaint town boasts of their 15 historic windmills that pump water from flooding the fields. People actually live in them all year long raising the sails when necessary.
